The Lift Garage is a 501c3 nonprofit aimed to move people out of poverty and homelessness by providing low-cost car repair, free pre-purchase car inspections, and honest advice that supports our community on the road to more secure lives.

Bluebirds & Blooms

The mission of Bluebirds & Blooms is to share moments of joy with those living with memory loss or long-term illness.  They do this through the gift of repurposed flowers.  Every day, millions of beautiful flowers are discarded from stores, events, weddings, and funerals.  They repurpose these donated flowers into cheerful bedside bouquets that are delivered caring volunteers for an unexpected moment of hope and encouragement.

Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery

Amount Awarded $16,902 ($11,902 member donations + $5,000 Schulze matching donation)

As a trusted resource for families, the Nursery focuses on prevention by offering free, voluntary services for parents who face barriers such as unemployment, homelessness, medical or mental health concerns, poverty, domestic violence, or other difficult situations.

They help strengthen families by connecting them to resources, caring for their children during difficult times, and setting goals that promote self-sufficiency and make the relationship between the parent and child stronger.

HopeKids

Amount awarded $18,002 ($11,502 member donations + $5,000 Schulze matching donation) and $1,500 donation to Cambia Hills

HopeKids provides ongoing events, activities, and a powerful, unique support community for families who have a child with cancer or some other life-threatening medical condition. HopeKids surrounds these children and their families with the message that hope is a powerful medicine.

The Sheridan Story

Amount awarded $18,985 ($13,985 member donations + $5,000 Schulze matching donation) and $200 donation to The Food Group and $600 donation to Loaves & Fishes

The mission of The Sheridan Story is to fight child hunger. More than 200,000 children in Minnesota live with food insecurity. Without reliable access to food – such as free and reduced meal programs at school – the risk of hunger is very real. The Sheridan Story works to fight hunger in our community by filling the gaps to food access that children face during weekends, summers and extended breaks.

Copper Street Brass

The mission of the Copper Street Brass (CSB) is to represent the Evolution of the Brass Quintet. Through inventive concerts, engaging educational programs, and original musical arrangements, we bring a fresh perspective to instrumental music. To express our artistic voice, we use a dazzling fusion of brass, keyboard, guitar, percussion, and electronic instruments to appeal to a universal audience and go beyond ordinary.

Alexandra House

Amount Awarded $21,290 ($16,290 member donations + $5,000 Schulze matching donation)

Alexandra House was established in 1977, when a group of concerned citizens formed the Anoka County Task Force for Battered Women. Within a year the Task Force established a 24-hour crisis line, with the first emergency shelter opening in 1980.  As the needs of the community evolved, Alexandra House has expanded on its services – adding legal advocacy, therapy and support services, violence prevention programs, elder abuse resources, and community education and professional training.
