Conversations with Friends

Amount Awarded $16,852 in member donations (+ $5,100 was donated to Hope Kids)

Conversations with Friends (CWF) is a dedicated, humanitarian, all-volunteer organization whose members write weekly pen-pal letters and send birthday cards and Sunshine Club cards to people detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). In addition, we make modest commissary deposits; we provide ‘Dignity’ backpacks for those who have been ordered deported; we provide Safe Release services to people who have been released and need assistance reaching their final destination.

Community Partners with Youth

 

Amount Awarded $24,268 ($19,268 in member donations + $5,000 matching grant from the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation).  

Community Partners with Youth was created as a collaborative grassroots effort to address changing needs of the youth in their community.  CPY’s mission is to provide a safe, nurturing environment where our youth can strengthen their personalities and develop educational and social skills.

Bundles of Love

 

Amount Awarded $22,353 ($17,353 in member donations + $5,000 matching grant from the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation).  Plus $100 was donated to Hope 4 Youth. 

Bundles of Love is a volunteer driven nonprofit that partners with community organizations to assist Minnesota families in need by providing handmade items for newborns.

Minnesota Connect Aphasia Now (MnCAN)

 

 

Amount Awarded $22,468 ($17,468 in member donations + $5,000 matching grant from the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation).  

MnCAN is dedicated to providing programs that help people with aphasia improve communication and life participation. They offer the aphasia community a variety of programs and services that focus on brain injury survivors with aphasia, people with primary progressive aphasia, and their care partners.

New Pathways

 

Amount Awarded $20,753 ($15,753 member donations + $5,000 matching grant from the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation).  Plus $100 was donated to Bundles of Love.

New Pathways empowers and provides support to central Minnesota families with children experiencing homelessness to help families regain their independence with dignity and their children look forward to a brighter future.

C.A.S.T. (Citizens Against Sex Trafficking)

 

Amount Awarded $20,753 ($15,753 member donations + $5,000 matching grant from the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation).  Plus $100 was donated to Wyldflyer Coffee. 

Citizens Against Sex Trafficking (C.A.S.T.) is dedicated to ending sexual exploitation and creating a culture that supports healthy choices and freedom from sexual violence and abuse. C.A.S.T. issues a call to action, resulting in partnerships, policies, and practices that prevent sexual exploitation and empowers victims and communities.

For Goodness Cakes

 

Amount Awarded $19,803 ($14,803 member donations + $5,000 matching grant from the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation).  Plus $100 was donated to ARCS.  

For Goodness Cakes matches volunteers to make and hand-deliver birthday and graduation cakes to children in foster care and youth overcoming adversity on their special day. Their focus is on spreading love, joy, and frosting!

Every Third Saturday believes there is no better medicine than being in community with other veterans and their families, rediscovering purpose, and serving a cause which is greater than ourselves.
